New Life Transformations, a Holistic Healing Center and Bed and Breakfast in Downtown Johnstown, is holding its First Annual Women’s Spiritual Retreat Friday, March 30th at 7pm.

At 7pm the weekend will begin with a welcome mixer and then the wonderful Rachel Allen will open the weekend with a group chant to begin the process of restoring, reviving and a relaxing weekend.  Attendees will settle into their rooms and then they are invited to cuddle up with a bowl of popcorn and your favorite beverage to watch a spiritual and inspiring movie or create their own personal Mala (traditional prayer beads similar to a rosary).

Healing Sounds:

“When I facilitate any type of chant experience, it is yogic based, using sound in the form of humming, toning, tuning and melody to increase space, clear energy centers and connect to self and whatever Source people connect to. The techniques I use are based in Tantric Yoga but along with Sanskrit, I also incorporate chants from Native American, Jewish, Christian and Sufi backgrounds. I use gentle movement with some techniques and circle dances from Native American, Jewish and Sufi traditions. Along with voice, I use a shruti box with a drone which is an instrument from India along with Ting-shaws, my giant Native American Grandmother gathering drum, my harp and sometimes other percussive or pentatonic melodic instruments.”
